  • RETIREMENT CELEBRATION for KEN HAGEL: A reception/social to celebrate Ken Hagel's retirement will be held after the 5 pm Mass on Saturday, June 24 in the Gathering Area. Everyone is invited to attend.

  • ST. MARY’S 5TH ANNUAL GOLF TOURNAMENT: The Knights of Columbus, Father Scollen Council # 8258, is proud to host the 5th Annual Parish Golf Tournament. It will be held on Sat., Aug. 26., 11 am, Cochrane Golf Club. $90/ player, includes 18 hole Best-Ball Tournament, power golf cart, BBQ lunch, Steak Dinner, and prizes. (Dinner only, $20.) All proceeds go to support charities and works in support of Cochrane Youth. Sign-up sheets in Gathering Area after Saturday and Sunday Masses starting June 17 or contact any member of the Golf Committee (below). Limit 72 players. First come-First served.   • COMMEMORATING the 100TH ANNIVERSARY of the SECOND APPARITION of FATIMA: "33 DAYS TO MORNING GLORY" — a 6-week dvd course by Father Michael Gaitley will be offered at Our Lady Of Fatima Church, 4747 - 30 Street, S.E., Calgary on July 18, 25 and August 1, 8, 15.   • The SACRED GARDEN and SURROUNDING LANDSCAPE needs your “Holy Hands” to help in their care. If you can give some of your time, as little as 1 hour monthly, we would like to have you and your family join us. Activities are as light as raking the path up to weeding and mowing the lawn.   • THE 10th ANNIVERSARY of the blessing of St. Mary's Church by Bishop Henry (back on June 13, 2007) was celebrated after evening Mass on June 13 with parishioners, Father Andrew, and a birthday cake. It was also a 'Thank You' evening for parish volunteers. To see a slideshow, CLICK HERE.

  • CONGRATULATIONS to ALL WHO MADE THEIR FIRST COMMUNION these past two weekends. May they continue to be nourished by Jesus, our Bread of Life. And may God bless them and their families at this time of special grace.

  • FAMINE EMERGENCY RESPONSE: PLEASE GIVE GENEROUSLY! GIVE BEFORE JUNE 30, and your donation will be MATCHED by the Canadian Government! 20 million people are at risk of death in the next six months in South Sudan, Somalia, Yemen, and Nigeria. Development and Peace—Caritas Canada—is present in the region and working closely with our local partners to respond to this humanitarian crisis, by working with the most vulnerable populations. The Canadian government is matching donations made by Canadian individuals to an eligible registered Canadian charity, supporting famine relief efforts June 30, 2017. FAMINE RELIEF FUND ENVELOPES ARE ON THE TABLE AT THE BACK OF THE CHURCH.

  • HARVEST MOON GALA ... SAVE THE DATE! St. Mary's Church is holding our 10th Annual Fund Raising event November 4th, 2017 at 6:30 pm. Proceeds will go towards the continued funding of our Church. Since its inception, this fundraising effort has raised over $330,000 in donations which have helped to build and outfit our church kitchen, and reduce our outstanding mortgage. We are once again seeking your support for this year's event which includes dinner, prizes, entertainment,and silent and live auctions. We are hoping that you may be able to provide one or more of the following:

    • Live Auction Item
    • Gift Certificates
    • Door Prize
    • Cash donation towards the purchase of a larger auction item
    • Supply goods or services required in preparation of the event (Please, new merchandise only).

  • STRESS IN YOUR MARRIAGE?Retrouvaille is a program for married couples who experience conflict, boredom, disillusionment or frustration. You can learn to use the communication tools they teach by registering for the program starting on September 8-10, 2017.   • ADDITIONAL SUNDAY MASS coming THIS FALL! Beginning on Sunday, September 10th, our Parish Pastoral Council has decided that we will be ADDING a Mass at 8:30 am in the Christ the King Day Chapel. This Mass will be open to all Parishioners, especially our young families. There will be lots of stroller parking!

  • SHOWCASE YOUR CULTURE: Cochrane Immigrant Services Committee is looking for diverse cultural groups to showcase their culture at the upcoming picnic Sunday, August 27, noon to 4 pm.   • The DVD LENDING LIBRARY– an ongoing resource for parishioners. See table located in Gathering Area near the Connections Store. Borrow inspirational FAMILY MOVIES for 1-2 weeks. New movies added every month. Donations gratefully accepted. Proceeds to parish building fund.
